What is MegaETH ?

MegaETH is an EVM-compatible blockchain that introduces real-time performance comparable to Web2 for the first time in the crypto realm. Its aim is to maximize the capabilities of Ethereum L2s up to the hardware constraints, closing the distance between blockchain technology and conventional cloud servers.

MegaETH stands out with its numerous key features: it provides high transaction throughput, substantial computational power, and uniquely, response times at the millisecond level even during peak usage. This enables developers to create and develop highly demanding applications without limitations.

Prover node vs Full node : which one to run ?

Full nodes obtain state differences from the sequencer through a peer-to-peer network and directly apply these diffs to refresh their local states. Importantly, they do not re-run the transactions; rather, they indirectly validate blocks using proofs from the provers.

The provers employ a stateless validation scheme to asynchronously and out-of-order confirm the validity of blocks.

To make it simple, full nodes require significantly more computing resources than provers, making them more complex to operate and resulting in fewer people running them.
